The Great Indian Kapil Show (2026)
The Great Indian Kapil Show returned for its fifth season on Netflix on 26 September 2026, after a six-month break. Kapil Sharma is back as host with his full comedy family: Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda performing their famous characters and sketches, while Archana Puran Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu sit in the judges’ chairs, laughing along with the audience.
Netflix has themed this season “Hasi Ka Tyohaar”, the festival of laughter, and it runs through the festive months with a new episode every Saturday at 8 PM. The season opened with one of its biggest episodes: Ajay Devgn arrived with the team of Drishyam: The Conclusion, including Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav, Jaideep Ahlawat and director Abhishek Pathak. The episode featured Kapil’s Goa jokes, Sunil Grover’s mimicry of Ajay Devgn, and a comic dance by the Sona-Mona duo of Krushna and Kiku.
Later episodes bring cricket legends Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri together for a nostalgia-filled special, and more star guests are lined up for the coming weeks, including Tamannaah Bhatia, Sidharth Malhotra and Zakir Khan. The formula remains the one India loves: celebrity interviews that turn into comedy, characters walking in uninvited, and Kapil’s one-liners holding it all together.
