Street Fighter (2026)
Street Fighter (2026) is a live-action action comedy directed by Kitao Sakurai, produced by Legendary Pictures and Capcom, and released in cinemas on 16 October 2026. It is the third live-action film based on the famous Street Fighter video game series, and this time the makers have kept the spirit of the 1990s arcade classic at the centre of the story.
The film is set in 1993. Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) were once training partners and close friends, but life has pulled them apart. They are thrown back together when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits both men for the next World Warrior Tournament, a brutal global contest where the world’s best fighters face each other. Behind the tournament, however, hides a deadly conspiracy run by the powerful crime lord M. Bison (David Dastmalchian) and his organisation, Shadaloo. To survive, Ryu and Ken must put their past aside, fight as a team again, and stand alongside a colourful line-up of fighters, including the wild Blanka (Jason Momoa), the disciplined soldier Guile (Cody Rhodes), the vengeful Akuma (Roman Reigns), the boxer Balrog (50 Cent) and India’s own Dhalsim, played by Vidyut Jammwal.
Packed with the game’s signature moves, from Hadoukens to spinning kicks, Street Fighter plays its action with a comic touch instead of taking itself too seriously.
