Chaar Yaar (2026) is an eight-episode Hindi crime drama series directed by Vinay Waikul, streaming on Prime Video. Set in Mumbai in the early 2000s, the story follows four childhood friends from a middle-class neighbourhood: Saahil (Purav Jha), Sameer (Naman Jain), Tony (Saqib Ayub) and Jay (Prayrak Mehta). Their lives are ordinary, full of small dreams, family responsibilities and the constant pressure of money.
Trouble begins when Jay’s father’s health worsens and the friends borrow twenty lakh rupees from local gangster Imtiaz (Sikandar Kher). Hoping for a quick way out, Saahil bets ten lakh of that money on an India versus Australia cricket match, and loses everything. With a gangster’s loan on their heads and no way to repay it, the four friends make a desperate choice: stealing cars for quick money.
That one decision pulls them deep into Mumbai’s underworld, where they cross paths with dangerous figures like Sharad Nagre (Chunky Panday), Babu Chauhan (Dibyendu Bhattacharya), Muthu (Bagavathi Perumal) and Cocaine Kareem (Nassar), while the police close in from the other side. Caught between gangsters and the law, the friends slowly discover that the first price of crime is the friendship that held them together. Chaar Yaar is a story about how far four ordinary boys can fall when desperation meets one wrong shortcut, and what it costs to climb back.
